The Executive Director\u2019s role is to properly manage,\u00a0 coordinate and broaden the scope of our activities by establishing connections with other comunity associations of BC and to develop relationships with Francophone and Francophile throughout the province and country. She is responsible for promoting the association and for managing finances and human resources, developing and assessing programs, conducting strategic planning, and assessing any issues faced by the Francophone communities within the southern Rockies.<\/p>\n

\u00c9lodie Teulier is in charge of\u00a0 \u201cLES TIGUIDOUS\u201d. She moved from Vancouver and Victoria to permanently settle in Fernie. \u00c9lodie is passionate about education. She ran a francophone daycare in Victoria and opened one here in Fernie. Young and energetic, she has prepared wonderful educational programs adapted for all levels. And for the youngest, she will teach them their first French words through simple, funny games and songs.<\/p>\n

Niki\u2019s maternal language is English but she became fluent in French while living in France for 9 years with her husband.\u00a0 Arriving in Fernie last summer, Niki enjoys her career in human resources, loves biking and snowboarding in the mountains and is a new mom!<\/p>\n

L\u00e9onie Galarneau<\/strong><\/p>\n

Leonie is from Quebec and she is a certified parent coach and she has worked in the childcare education filed for over 10 years. She moved to Fernie in December 2019 and since, offer her services as a parent coach to the families of the community. She is really involved in the association and really attached to the francophone world.<\/p>\n

Tecla Mouchet<\/strong><\/p>\n

Administrator<\/em><\/p>\n

Tecla Mouchet is originally from Italy and she is a teacher, dietician and mom. She lives in East Kootenay since 2000. Passionate about French language, she became part of the Afros since 2014, facilitated the Association program for 0-4 years old (now called Tiguidous) , and co-create and ran for 2 years the Junior Baguette Club with fun and dedication. She is been working in educational field for more than 15 years and now works in French Immersion since 5 years. She loves nature, arts and kraft, and enjoys biking, coffees and laughing !<\/p>\n

Originally from Qu\u00e9bec city, she started her trip out west in October 2008 after finishing her studies in education. She spent a few years in Whistler, working in francophone schools before getting a permanent position at Sophie-Morigeau in Fernie. After the birth of both her children, she wanted to get more involved in french-speaking community of Fernie and joined the AFRoS as one of our board member.<\/p>\n

Originally from Montreal, Laurence recently made the jump towards the Rockies and found Kimberley as her home away from home. She is a dance teacher in schools. She is also an interpreter in contaporary dance and founding member of Danse to Go collective.
